I transferred all my recordings from laptop onto a flash drive and then put them into my desktop. When I click to open them on my desktop it gives me a recover file message and says “ no file found with that corresponding content.by specifying the original file, it will become playable. What does that mean? And is there anyway to find my recordings?

Answer by Akash Shah

It sounds like the program "Sound Organizer" is unable to locate the original files if they’ve been moved or renamed during the transfer. Here are a few suggestions you can try to locate or recover your files:

  1. Ensure the files are still on your flash drive and accessible on your desktop. You might want to check that the files were properly transferred to the flash drive from the laptop and then to the desktop.

  2. Make sure the file paths haven’t changed. The software may require the files to be in a specific directory that matches the original location where the recordings were saved or where the software expects to find them. Try moving the files back to their original directory on your desktop if you remember where it was.

  3. Check if the files have been renamed. If the names have changed during the transfer process, the software may not recognize them as the same files.

  4. Look for backup options. Some software or devices may have an automatic backup feature that you could use to locate previous versions of your files.

  5. Try re-importing the files into "Sound Organizer" from your desktop to reload them into the program.

If these steps do not resolve your issue, you may want to refer to the "Sound Organizer" support documentation or contact their customer service for more specific guidance tailored to the software.

Check if the volume on the Sound Organizer software is turned up and also check if the volume on the computer is turned up. If that doesn't work, try playing the files on a different media player to see if the issue is specific to Sound Organizer.

I wish to remove the first ten seconds from a track, I follow the instructions, but when I right click the selected section (in black), I do not get a delete instruction. Help me, please.

Answer by Alex Urbach

Dividing a portion of a track is actually pretty easy. Open Sound Organizer, then import the file. Press on Edit Mode to generate the waveform. With the file selected in the list, press on Divide. Add only ONE marker at the end of the dividing point and then press START. Your file will be divided in two, then you can import the second part.

I bought the Sony IC Recorder ICD-PX312. But it seems that Sound Organizer only works for the PC. Is there a Mac compatible product that I can use?

S
Answer by Sean Hill

Sound Organizer is not compatible with Mac OS X, nor there is a compatible version available. However, many users recommended Audacity as an alternative. Even if it does not have all the functions offered by Sound Organizer, you still have the possibility to control the playback easily.

Audacity works on all Mac versions: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/mac

Or, you could run Sound Organizer through Wine Bottler, an emulator for Windows files.

I bought the Sony IC Recorder ICD-AX412. Sound Organizer only works for the PC. Is there a Mac compatible product that will allow me to edit Sony IC Recorder recordings on my Mac?

L
Answer by Leonard Moore

The producer of your recorder doesn't offer any support for MAC OS. You can check Forum 1 for more information about this matter. Also you can check Mac Informer in order to find a software that might help you resolve this.

The application supports most of the pedals used for transcription but you need to make sure that the pedal is configured correctly and you need to customize the controls in the Transcription menu under Tools > Settings. The Transcription menu will be activated only for files imported from the IC Recorder.

When I downloaded Sound Organizer into my new Windows 10 machine, the font size is about 2 and unreadable without a magnifying glass. My computer guy has tried various things, but none worked. Any ideas?

This happens due to the DPI scaling feature found in the Windows operating systems. I know that it happened to me as well with one of my programs, and I believe this happens to the Sound Organizer as well. To fix it, simply change the DPI scaling using Start > Settings. Type DPI into the search box then click the option that appears. I recommend increasing it.

To enable the Transcription option, you need to import files that are supported by the application. To check the supported files, start the application then go to Help > Sound organizer Help or simply press F1. Switch to Search and then type support. Double click Import files in Sound Organizer then choose Supported Formats and you can see the files that can be added.
